to integrative trauma work, parts work, and embodied healing
I practice and share my own flavour of intuitive and somatic-based healing, derived from the culmination of my learning and healing journey. The practice is based on the principle of loving and curious presence through mindful awareness of thoughts, sensations, and emotions. With this simple yet profound intention of presence, destructive thoughts, habits, and emotions can steadily orient towards love; restoring flow, health, and order back into the system.
Somatic parts work integrates principles from somatic trauma therapy, parts work, family constellations, and various other modalities to facilitate healing and integration on a deep, embodied level.
We work with the aspects or parts of ourselves that carry pain as a response to past experiences, and focus on gently yet powerfully relieving their burden through embodied awareness and integration. These parts can represent different aspects of the self, such as protective mechanisms, wounded inner children, or suppressed emotions, accessed via somatic sensations and bodily responses.
Clients are supported in tracking and regulating their nervous system arousal, allowing for the safe exploration and processing of emotions and memories stored in the body. With non-judgment and compassion, I will gladly hold space for whatever you are experiencing. No problem or emotion is too big or too much to explore together.
In short, at the time of conception, you were your true self. Then, when interacting with the environment, you received wounding as the result of your parents’ wounds and the society’s wounds - whatever pain there was from the people around you. This caused pain in you which was not processed and released at the time, so it got locked inside and ended up creating the hurt self, the trauma. And as the painful emotions contained in the hurt self were not supported to safely release, a layer called the protective facade got created on top of the hurt self, trying to protect you from the pain. It includes all of your self-protective attempts to be tolerated and to function in the society by suppressing or hiding the pain in different ways. The protection mechanisms of the facade may feel safe, but actually they are not at all serving your soul in the long run. As long as you have any of the hidden pain left, it will always show up in some way as problematic life situations, emotional pain or even physical ailments in the longterm. Without our knowing it influences our choices and keeps creating situations that keep us stuck and reflect to us the pain over and over.
Unfortunately, a lot of the therapy work done all over the world is not actually healing the deeper causes of our pain but perpetuating the rejection of the hurt self by trying to “fix” things - inner or outer - whilst maintaining the socially acceptable facade. A big part of the healing work here is about breaking through the facade and building safety around being authentic and feeling and expressing deeper emotions from the hurt self. When you are held safe space to be authentic and vulnerable enough to dare to feel through the emotions that are in the hurt self, then those pain filled parts in us get a new experience that they are actually welcome and held and understood. While the hurt self gets an experience of being loved, its pain can be released.
This is a process that will include you connecting with the felt sense of your body sensations in order to connect more closely and deeply with yourself. You will become more aware of the resources in your body pertaining to your physical sensations, which will then support the process of healing by welcoming pleasure and discharging pain.
If you intend to work on any issues and/or blockages in any facet of your life experience, from a place of being more anchored in your body as resource you can gently and consciously work through difficult sensations and emotions that inhibit flow and cause stagnation in your experience.
This process can make you more open, deep, curious, passionate, and connected with yourself and your emotions. It will improve your confidence in dealing with your internal and external experience with integration, awareness, and resilience.
